We saw record-breaking numbers in our latest tournament, the North American Collegiate Hearthstone Open 2, when 3,498 players (of over 4,500 registered on the website) competed in the double elimination tournament. This was one of the largest online Hearthstone tournaments to date! The TeSPA Compete Portal saw over 600k page views during the course of the tournament. After two weekends of qualifiers, the following cardslingers earned a free trip to Seattle in order to compete at PAX Prime and be casted by Realz and Trump on September 1st:

Our competitors put their decks and strategies to the test while streaming live on the Twitch stage in a single elimination 8-player bracket. With $5,000 in scholarship prizes and three spots in the 2014 Hearthstone World Championships BlizzCon Qualifier on the line, these college students were under significant pressure but played calmly and intelligently throughout the finals event. Dominus from the University of Western Ontario ended up claiming victory after losing the first game as hunter and coming back to take three in a row playing his shaman deck. Nostam (State University of New York System), and Teechu (University of Waterloo) would claim 2nd and 3rd place, respectively, in order to secure their seat at the table of Hearthstone World Championship American qualifiers.
